Captain / OUPV Master up to 100 GT

This course meets the USCG testing requirement for up to a Master Near Coastal 100 GT License:
Everyone's experience is different, the USCG evaluates your underway time so the license you receive depends on your experience. This course meets the testing requirements for the following licenses:

Operator of uninspected passenger vessels (OUPV 6-Pak)
Master or Mate of Near Coastal Waters (up to 100 tons)
Master of Inland Waters (up to 100 tons)

Assistance Towing Endorsement
This Course meets the USCG testing requirement to receive an Assistance Towing endorsement on your OUPV or Master's License. This endorsement is required if you will be engaged in towing a disabled vessel for payment.

Auxiliary Sailing Endorsement
This Course meets the USCG testing requirement to receive a sailing endorsement on your Master's License. This endorsement is required if you will be operating an Inspected Sailing or Auxiliary Sailing Vessel.

This course meets the STCW-95 requirements:

  • Required of all mariners with a license over 200GT, Able Seamen, and mariners with licenses less than 200GT who take passengers for hire into foreign waters.
  • License holders may still maintain their license or document without this endorsement, however, certification will be essentially limited to"domestic only" employment.

Course subjects include:
Personal Survival
Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
Fire Fighting,
CPR/First Aid
The course is a "hands-on" demonstrations of your skill & ability to
prove that you are qualified to serve aboard seagoing vessels.

Approximately 24-40 hours depending on your license

Radar Observer - Unlimited

Upon successful completion of this course, the candidate is issued a U.S. Coast Guard approved Radar Certificate establishing competency in the operation and utilization of marine radar equipment. This endorsement may be added to any U.S. Coast Guard Deck Officer License and is a requirement depending on the license you hold or if you are operating certain vessels.

Course subjects include:
Fundamentals of radar
Operation and use of radar
Interpretation and analysis of radar information
Plotting
Radar endorsement expires five (5) years from date of issue.
Endorsement can be renewed through Refresher Course and test below.

This course is a renewal for the Unlimited Radar endorsement. We recommend this course if it's been awhile since you've done radar plots.

This course is a renewal for the Unlimited Radar renewal for the advanced mariner that does radar plotting on a regular basis.

Testing Only
Testing on the first and second triangles and practical plotting on the radar scope (2 tests each) Approximately 4 hours

Shipboard CPR & First Aid

Includes immediate care to be given in life-threatening situations involving injury or sudden illness at sea. U.S. Coast Guard approved for license applicants. CPR is adult level only. Course includes U.S. Coast Guard air-sea rescue methods and evacuation from vessels.

Course subjects include:
Emergency medical aid at sea.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Deck License Renewal

This course will provide mariners an opportunity to renew their U.S. Coast Guard Deck license (up to 200 GT only) by satisfactorily completing the classroom presentation and end of course examination. No sea-time is required. Completion certificates will be awarded to those candidates who complete an open-book examination, with a score of at least 90%.

Life saving and general safety
Firefighting
Trim, stability and emergency procedures

This study guide is intended to allow anyone to review the Federal Communications Commision, Marine Radio Operator Permit examination question pool (Element 1) at the completion of the review, the applicant is able to test for the MROP license.
