We also recommend student’s purchase Maritime Institute’s “Guide to Rules of the Road” study aid. These items can all be purchased from our Ship’s Store or any number of marine supply stores.

The Navigation Rules (International - Inland), is included on the CD containing the course reference material and is accessible online. Some students choose to purchase the Navigation Rules book since it is a requirement to carry the book on vessel over 12 meters on inland waters.

There are a number of U.S.C.G. requirements which must be met before an applicant is eligible for the license. Click here to read the USCG LICENSING REQUIREMENTS. If you intend to get the license, you must submit an application and all appropriate paperwork to the USCG for approval. This can be accomplished before or after completion of the online course. Click here to go to our website for all the necessary forms. DOWNLOADS.  You may, however, elect to take this course simply for good, solid, maritime education.
