We are seeking an experience Marine Production Welder this position is an essential role in fast paced environment that requires thinking quickly and effectively while maintaining a positive attitude. The Production Welder will always follow safe work practices and be responsible for helping everyone learn and maintain the PMG Standard.
The primary responsibility of the Production Welder includes set-up, laying out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and/or equipment products. The welder must utilize welding equipment to complete work per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule. We are looking for someone with the ability to operate and /or use related equipment and tools which include stick, wire feed, TIG, forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, a tape measure, etc.

- Ability to handle stressful situations with focus.
- Must demonstrate effective leadership skills
- Ability to measure and cut material.
- Agility to bend, stoop, or squat, and climb high steps/ladders frequently.
- Physical dexterity and strength to operate deck machinery; work on equipment that is poorly accessible or in confined workspaces.
- Other duties as assigned
- 5+ year experience as a welder.
- 6G, pipe welding and Flux Core Certified.
- Attention to detail/excellent organizational skills.
- Experience in welding procedures, various types of welding equipment, proficient in flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal welding.
- Ability to weld SMAW & FCAW, and GMAW.
- Ability to pass ABS Welding Test 1-3G, 4G
- Shipyard Competent Person
- Brainstorming/Thinking outside the box, planning, scheduling, sequencing of work
- Ability to prioritize duties and multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs. without restriction. Position involves lifting, pulling, and operating heavy equipment and objects.
- Agility to bend, stoop, or squat, and climb high steps/ladders frequently.
- Physical dexterity and strength to operate deck machinery; work on equipment that is poorly accessible or in confined workspaces.
- Must be able to keep balance/equilibrium while performing duties at various heights.
- Ability to work in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time.
- Adequate hearing & vision ability.
- Proper heat/cold tolerance, working in all weather conditions.
- Comfortable working while exposed to grease, dirt, paint, water, etc.
- Must be able to swim.
