John Stauffer, CW4, USA (Ret) joined Maritime Institute in 2022 as the Executive Vice President. He brings over 30 years of maritime operational and training experience to the company. John served for 22 years as an Army Mariner concluding his career as the Chief of the Maritime Operations Branch in Virginia where he provided operational guidance for the training of Army maritime professionals. He has over 12 years of sea duty, serving as Captain on numerous classes of Army vessels including the USAV Frank S. Besson (LSV-1), USAV James A. Loux (LSV-6), USAV Port Hudson (LCU-2035), and the USAV Tug Enduring Freedom (ST-911).
Prior to joining Maritime Institute, John served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for the Maritime Campus at San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas.
John Stauffer earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University and his MBA from Liberty University. John is from Pittsburgh, PA and has been happily married to his high school sweetheart Melissa for 27 years. John and Melissa have two adult daughters Alli and Ashley Stauffer. In his free time John enjoys running, golfing, traveling and serving his community.
