Tracy Wimberly, EN1, USN (Ret), joined Maritime Institute after serving over 20 years in the Navy in the engineering department. Back on shore, Tracy was an instructor at SWOS LS NORFOLK , leading the Small Diesel Engine Overhaul School, where he became certified as a Master Training Specialist.

At Maritime Institute, Tracy is an instructor in our engineering department. He teaches a number of our courses, including, Fireman Oiler Water Tender and Rating Forming Part of an Engineering Watch, OICEW Motor and OICEW Auxiliary. Additionally, Tracy has been instrumental in instructing the Boot Camp classes on various engineering systems. When he is not at work, his hobbies include hanging out with his family and friends as well as outside cooking.
