BASIC HYDRAULICS
This course will include classroom training that will cover fluid theory; to include characteristics, qualities and types of fluids, systems design and componentry, piping, tubing and hoses, types and operation of valves, sealing devices, pressure / temperature measuring and regulating devices, strainers, filters, reservoirs and accumulators, types and operation of actuators, and the understanding of fluid power system diagrams and schematics.
The student will perform hands on training to include disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of various fluid power system components, tubing connections workshop, and fluid power system design, testing, troubleshooting, and operation. The student will be required to pass a 50 question multiple choice exam. Successfully completing this 40-hour course of instruction will provide the student with a greater understanding of fluid power systems and their associated components commonly found on their vessels and the confidence to successfully operate, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot those systems and components when required.
