Students that successfully complete Practical Small Boat Operations course have been instructed in determining vessel's position by use of terrestrial landmarks, nautical aids to navigation, restricted visibility operations, radar operation, safe speed, and lookout requirements. Students have been instructed in the use of Sailing Directions, Notice to Mariners and The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 with practical underway training to emphasize inland nautical Rules of the Road.
