...Maritime Institute’s Swimmer Qualification course is aimed at the Commercial or Military Mariner that may require; evaluation, testing and remediation to obtain proficiency equivalent to a US Navy Third or Second Class Swimmer.Third Class Swimmer: Is described as a person who can stay afloat and survive without the use of a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) in optimum conditions. The Third Class Swimmer qualification is the minimum entry-level requirement for all U.S. Navy personnel.
Second Class Swimmer: Is described as a person who can stay afloat and survive without the use of a PFD indefinitely in open water under optimum conditions long enough to be rescued in a man-over-board situation. The Second Class Swimmer qualification is used as an entry-level requirement for Small Boat Operators.

Students are required to provide their own bathing suit, towel, flip-flops, t-shirt and working uniform pants with no rips or tears.
The above-named individual has successfully passed all in water testing based upon the US Navy standards and requirements for 2nd Class Swimmer in accordance with the NAVY SWIMMING AND WATER SURVIVAL INSTRUCTOR MANUAL (NETC P1552/16 - August 2017) as guidance.
