About the Opportunity:
Candidates must have one year of recent experience as an Able Bodied Seaman. Our employees have public contact; therefore we are looking for candidates who take pride in their appearance, have superb customer service, and communication skills. A flexible schedule is a must as it includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. The candidate must submit to a comprehensive background check as well as pre-employment, and random drug testing as required by the United States Coast Guard.
About You:
This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Handle mooring lines
Participate in safety and security drills as required by WQSB
Enforce crew and passenger safetyStand wheel watches as required
Be trained and prepared to use SCBA and fire turn-outs
Check heads/vessel for cleanliness
Directly supervises deckhands
Harbor Tour Narration / make announcements over the PA system
Will work as a “Senior Deckhand” on other company vessel
Additional job duties assigned
Requirements & Qualifications:
1-year recent experience as an Able Bodied Seaman
High School or equivalency
United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential with AB Special, Limited, or Unlimited rating
TWIC
First Aid / CPR
Desired endorsements: Lifeboatman, Firefighting, STCW
Grooming:
All crew members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available in the Employee Handbook).
Physical Demands:
Ability to bend, rotate and reach frequently
Ascending/descending stairs or ladders safely
Ability to maneuver through/in/around small and/or confined areas within the vessel
Must be able to maintain both static and dynamic standing balance to complete various duties associated with job
Must be capable of performing emergency duties as listed in the vessel’s station bill
Work Environment:
Office environment, stairs available. Work is administrative in nature.
The majority of work is performed in a Marine environment in both indoor and outdoor conditions with exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions, along with a moderate to loud noise level.
