LICENSED MARINERs, MARINE DEPARTMENT

Seeking mariners for various positions in Kwajalein, Republic of the Marshall Islands.  Enjoy having enough free time year round to appreciate a unique living experience diving, fishing, kite boarding, exploring the WWII battlefields or simply relaxing on the beach at the Yacht Club.  The department typically operates 5 days a week from 7am to 4pm; leaving the evenings and weekends for you to explore the island and its waters in the year around 82 degree tropical climate.

The low cost of living here allows your pay to stay in your pocket.  A studio apartment with all utilities (except internet) is provided. Meals are also provided at no cost at the Zamporini Warrior Restaurant.  Leave the car payment, insurance, and fuel cost behind since the primary means of transportation here is by bicycle.  Candidates are typically offered an unaccompanied, non-rotational position; selected candidate will be offered a one-year contract which typically qualifies employees for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion.  Benefits include paid vacation, medical and dental insurance, $4,100 annual travel allowance, $2,600 stateside storage allowance, a studio apartment, and meals.

We operate a fleet of 11 Army owned, contractor operated vessels.  The Kwajalein Marine Department has its own ship lift and dry dock facility where our five support shops perform shipyard maintenance on our six passenger ferries, two LCM 8 landing craft, and Dive Vessel.  Rounding out our fleet is an LCU 2000 class landing craft and a 128’ Large Tug.

Mariner positions within the department include:  1600T Master; 1600T Chief Mate; 200T Master of Towing; 200T Chief Mate; multiple 100T Masters; Chief Engineer limited; DDE 4000; and QMED.  Support positions include:  Marine Manger; Port Captain; Port Engineer; Port Agent; Harbor Master; Chief Stevedore; Shop Supervisors; Marine Mechanics; Shipfitter/Welders; Marine Electricians; Marine Painters; Supply Supervisor; and commercial divers.
