James (Bo) Boleyjack, DCC (SW) USN (Ret) joined Maritime Institute in April 2022 as a Damage Control Instructor. He brings over 17 years of Firefighting training experience to the company. James served for 23 years in United States Navy as a Damage Controlman concluding his military career as the Damage Control Chief in Virginia where he provided Coordinated managerial and safety supervision functions in support of Damage Control, Fire Fighting, Chemical, Biological and Radiological Defense (CBR) programs. Performed duty as the Damage Control Subject Matter Expert, Gas Free Engineer and Assistant Safety Officer. He has over 17 years of sea duty, serving Damage Controlman on Navy vessels including USS Fort McHenry (LSD43), USS Tortuga (LSD46), USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG81), USS The Sullivans (DDG68), Afloat Training Group Atlantic, Fleet Training Centers Farrier Fighting School Norfolk, USS Constellation (CV64), USS Independence (CV62).
Prior to joining Maritime Institute, James served 12 years as Head Night Supervisor in Virginia Beach Public Schools.
James Boleyjack earned his Associates of Applied Science and Bachelor of Business Management Technology Degree from Saint Leo University. James is from Nashville, TN. Has four Children Aaron, Cameron, Lauren, Amelia. In his spare time, Bo enjoys repurposing items, playing with his grand babies (6), traveling, and helping others.
