Mr. Abrams is the owner and CEO of Maritime Institute (MI), the largest provider of US Coast Guard certified training courses for both military and civilian mariners in the United States. Mr. Abrams acquired Training Resources Limited and Maritime Institute in 2018 and merged them together to form TRLMI, then acquired Mid Atlantic Maritime Academy in December 2021 and rebranded both companies to “Maritime Institute” in 2022. Also in 2021 MI formed a new division called Maritime Publishing, and acquired several magazine titles for the maritime industry, including Professional Mariner, Pacific Maritime and Fishermen’s News, with Mr. Abrams as publisher.

A former U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer, Mr. Abrams holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BA from the University of Rochester. He is an active member of Young President’s Organization and San Diego Yacht Club. Mr. Abrams is a licensed pilot and Coast Guard Licensed 100 Ton Master.
