ENGINEERING TERMINOLOGY
This course is intended to provide merchant marine or naval engineering personnel that work in engineering spaces or are engineering watch standers the understanding and comprehension of the specialized Maritime English that deals with maritime terminology. This course will provide the student with the understanding of the unique English vernacular associated with maritime and naval engineering operations, equipment, technology that allow them to function effectively. This will also prepare them to properly report and react to engineering casualties while underway or in port. This course will cover engineering terminology as it relates to the reporting and log book entries and equipment operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair. This is a non-STCW course.
