Basic and Advanced Aluminum Welding for Shipyards
This intensive five-week, 200-hour program provides comprehensive training in both basic and advanced aluminum welding practices specific to shipyard operations. Beginning with foundational safety, fire prevention, metallurgy, and welding theory, students progress through hands-on instruction in oxyacetylene and plasma cutting, blueprint reading, and precise welding machine setup. Core practical training covers steel and aluminum welding in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions, as well as ship fitting fundamentals. Advanced modules introduce NAVSEA welding standards and pulse welding techniques, preparing participants for qualification testing. By course completion, students will demonstrate proficiency in aluminum welding applications, shipyard safety, and compliance with NAVSEA certification requirements.
