Successfully completed a comprehensive 200-hour introductory course covering a wide range of foundational skills and safety protocols, including shipyard familiarization, shipboard terminology and nomenclature, OSHA 10 certification, CPR/First Aid, and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Gained hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge in confined space safety, fall protection (including working over water), tool safety and identification, and basic measuring techniques. Acquired an understanding of basic combustion engines, cutting tools, torches, welding symbology, metallurgy, welding, ship fitting, and blueprint reading. Additionally, received training in scaffolding setup, high and low voltage safety (including electric vehicles), and an introduction to the benefits, safety, and maintenance of Port of San Diego EV upgrades.
