GWO ADVANCED RESCUE TRAINING
This standard has been developed in response to the demand for recognizable advanced rescue training in the industry and has been prepared in co-operation between the members of GWO based on risk assessments and factual incident and accident statistics pertaining to the installation, service and maintenance of wind turbine generators and wind power plants.
This standard describes the requirements for advanced rescue training courses that are recommended by the members of GWO. The full standard covers four modules:
- Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (HSIBR) Period Valid: 24 Months
- Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (NTBR) Period Valid: 24 Months
- Single Rescuer: Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue (SR:HSIBR) No Expiration
- Single Rescuer: Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue (SR:NTBR) No Expiration

- Course Length: 4 days
- Minimum Class Size: 2
- Maximum Class Size: 4
- Minimum Age: 18
Prerequisites: Participants will be in good health and physically capable of fully taking part in all course activities. Valid GWO BST module Working at Heights, GWO First Aid, GWO Manual Handling certificates and CSER2002 are prerequisites for participation. Furthermore, Course Participants shall have created a personal Course Participant profile in WINDA and provide their own WINDA ID prior to completing the training. Students MUST bring work clothes suitable for working at heights, work boots and a photo ID. All other equipment will be provided. MAXIMUM BODY WEIGHT 260LB
Certification: Course certificate(s) and credit in the GWO WINDA Database.
