If you answered YES, then LAMI and our year round operations in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach may be just right for you.  We are seeking full time liveaboard mates in San Pedro.

LAMI currently operates three tall ships; the twin brigantines Irving Johnson and Exy Johnson which are 110’ with 13 sails and our 130’ three masted schooner American Pride.  Areas of operation include the Los Angeles and Long Beach Port Complex, from Dan Diego to Santa Barbara, the Northern Channel Islands, and Catalina Island.

As mate,  you will be responsible for running the vessel under the direction of the master who is responsible for all elements including safety, crew, training, executing education programs, and maintenance.  Enthusiasm for sailing and interacting with school age youth and the general public is essential.  As a salaried member of the leadership team, you will be entitled to full benefits including medical/dental/vision/life insurance, a 401K, paid vacation/holiday/sick leave and EAP.
