The Coast Guard recently published some changes to officer and rating endorsement titles. This effort aligns with Coast Guard policy of using gender neutral language.  More detail on which changes can be found in the official notice.

Additionally, the rule requires Coast Guard approved training providers to electronically submit student course completion data within 5 business days of completion of the course. Compliance is required by January 17, 2027. NMC will use this to validate mariner course completion as part of an MMC application. The Coast Guard expects this to improve application processing efficiency.
