Austin Brittain serves as Operations Manager at Maritime Institute’s Everett location. He joined the team after a 24-year career in the United States Navy, retiring in 2026 as a Senior Chief Engineman.

During his Navy career, Austin served aboard multiple ships and gained extensive experience in marine engineering, operations, maintenance, leadership, and training. He qualified as Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) and worked with diesel, gas turbine, and steam propulsion systems. As a Navy instructor and senior engineering leader, he spent much of his career training and developing Sailors.

Outside of work, Austin enjoys spending time with his wife, Yuki, and their two daughters, hiking with his best friend Kuma, the family dog, and cheering on the Seattle Mariners.
