Ra Shonda (Ra) Myers was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She originally went to Nursing School (LVN) and quickly realized that she wasn’t able to stomach all that came with the career. Ra Shonda then spent several years working in the Administrative field as well as Office Management. In 2007 she married a sailor and landed in New York for 5 years where she gained her accounting experience. Twelve years later and it was the best career decision she ever made. Accounting has allowed Ra to work in a variety of industries such as piping, construction, logistics, e-commerce and now the Maritime industry. Even though the job can be challenging “numbers never lie”! Ra Shonda tries her best to bringing positivity every day to the work place, and believes a simple “good morning” can change a person’s day! She has a wicked sense of humor, an affinity for bad jokes, and witty sarcasm. If you ever need a boost of confidence or a champion cheerleader stop by Ra Shonda’s desk anytime!

A fun fact about Ra Shonda is that her and our office manager Tammy Poole went to high school together, and later wound up working at Maritime Institute out of sheer coincidence.
