EPA 608 - UNIVERSAL
IN THE SECTION 608 TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS THERE ARE FOUR LEVELS OF CERTIFICATIONS: Universal Certification – Someone who possesses Type I, Type II and Type III Certifications. EPA is a two day course. You will be certified for any or all of the of the below categories of EPA certifications upon successful completion of the testing requirements. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act requires that all persons who handle, maintain, service, repair, or dispose of appliances that contain regulated refrigerants, should be certified in proper refrigerant handling techniques by passing the EPA 608 Technician Certification exam. The EPA Section 608 test is a closed book test intended to measure a technician’s basic knowledge of refrigerant containment laws set by the Clean Air Act. It covers modern service, installation, and disposal practices for refrigerant bearing appliances and the proper use and maintenance of refrigerant related tools. Questions are also included which require knowledge of how and why refrigerants are effecting our environment.
