This is a non-USCG course of instruction to familiarize engineering students with electrical subjects.  CALL TO SCHEDULE
This certificate is issued for successfully completing a one-week familiarization course covering AC Generator basics and the production of AC power including three phase power characteristics, Wye and Delta electrical connections and characteristics including line voltage, current and phase relationships, single phase versus three phase power and how they are connected. As well as frequency, phase relationship, Inductance, capacitance, power factor and the measurement of AC power using Root Mean Square (RMS) voltage. Generator construction and cooling, how generators are excited, Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), transient voltage and maintenance of generators and cabling including insulation resistance, circuit testing and continuity testing and the use of multimeters, megohmmeter (Megger), high voltage megger testing, clamp-on ammeter, and live line testers.
