SEARCH AND RESCUE (OPERATIONAL LEVEL)
Any applicant who successfully completes our Search & Rescue (Operational Level) (MARINS-447) course will satisfy the search and rescue training requirements of 46 CFR 11.309(a)(4)(iii) for an STCW endorsement as Office in Charge of a Navigational Watch on vessels of 500 GT(ITC) or more (Operational Level); and The Search & Rescue standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.309(a)(3) and 11/319(a)(3); STCW Code Section A-II/1 and Table A-II/1, as amended 2010 , meeting the National Assessment Guidelines rom NVIC 12-14(Ch-6) Task 6.1 and NVIIC 02-18(Ch-4) Task 6.1.A; AND The Search & Rescue standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.317(a)(2) and 11.321(a)(2); STCW Code Section A-II/3and Table A-II/3, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 13-14(Ch-4) Task 4.1.A.
Applicants who have successfully completed our course need not present completed Task Control Sheets for the assessments in application for STCW certification.This Course will provide the candidate with reliable knowledge on Search Rescue (SAR) operations and a proper response to a distress signal at sea in accordance with the Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Code as amended and U.S. Coast Guard regulations. Every candidate for certification as second mate and third mate of ships of 500 gross tons or more shall be required to complete SAR training and demonstrate competence to undertake at the operational level the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in column 1 of Table A-II/1. Additionally, Table A-II/3 applies to offices in charge of a navigational watch and masters on ships of less than 500 gross tonnage, engaged on near-coastal voyages,
