VALVE MAINTENANCE
VALVE MAINTENANCE
...Valve Maintenance course is aimed at the Commercial or Military Mariners, who are tasked with operating, maintaining, and repairing flow control devices that are commonly found onboard Civilian and Naval vessels, and who want to upgrade, improve, or augment their skills. This course will include classroom time that will cover theory, operation, troubleshooting, and repair. This classroom time will prepare the student to successfully operate, open and inspect an assortment of flow control valves, pressure regulating valves, relief valves, and strainers in our engineering lab. The student will perform routine maintenance activities, troubleshooting, repair, and pressure testing to verify valve performance following repairs. Successfully completing this 40-hour course of instruction will provide the student with a greater understanding of flow control devices found on their vessels and the confidence to successfully operate, maintain, repair, and test those valves when required.
