QUALIFIED ASSESSOR (QA)

Any applicant who has successfully completes this Qualified Assessor course will satisfy the requirements for Qualified Assessor training and instruction in assessment techniques of 46 CFR 10.405(a)(1) and 46 CFR 10.405(d), including the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, (STCW), as amended, Regulation 1/6 and Section A-1/6 of the STCW Code, and Navigation and Vessel Inspection Circular No. 19-14, Policy on Qualified Assessors.
 
This sixteen-hour course is intended for any person conducting in-service assessment of competence of a seafarer onboard and includes the many principles of developing and implementing a shipboard assessment system.

This course meets the USCG course requirement for becoming a Qualified Assessor. Any applicant who has successfully completed your Qualified Assessor (MARINS-394) will satisfy: The training in assessment techniques requirements of 46 CFR 10.405(a)(1) and 46 CFR 10.405(d).
