LEADERSHIP AND TEAMWORKING SKILLS
This course is required for Master and Chief Mate on ships of 500 gross tons or more and Chief Engineer and Second Engineer Officer on ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 3000 KW or more. A variety of exercises including use of the simulator will be utilized emphasizing teamwork skills. Leadership and Teamworking Skills: Required for Mariners seeking STCW endorsements as Officers In Charge of a Navigational Watch on vessels of 500 GT or more and for Mariners seeking STCW endorsements as Officers In Charge of Engineering Watch in a Manned Engine Room or Designated Duty Engineer in Unmanned Engine-room Powered by Machinery of 750KW/1000 HP. Mariners successfully completing TRLMI’s Leadership and Teamworking Skill course will satisfy The Leadership and Teamworking Skills within 46 CFR 11.309; 46 CFR 11.319; 46 CFR 11.321; AND, the equivalent of the specific tasks from the National Assessment Guidelines found in NVIC 12-14 (Tasks 18.1.A-18.5.A), for an endorsement as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch; The Leadership and Teamworking Skills within...

****** PLEASE NOTE ******* Any Mariners seeking an original or renewing an STCW endorsement as Master of Vessels of less than 500 GT that are limited to Near-Coastal Waters or OICNW of Vessels of less than 500 GT that are limited to Near-Coastal Waters are NOT required to provide evidence of successfully completing the Leadership and Managerial Skills or Leadership and Teamworking Skills courses of instruction as outlined in the STCW Code.
Any applicant who has successfully completed your Leadership and Teamworking Skills (MARINS-768) course will satisfy: The Leadership and Teamworking Skills standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.309(c)(1) and 11.319(b)(1); STCW Code Section A-II/1 and Table A-II/1, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVICs 12-14(Ch-5) and 02-18(Ch-3) Tasks 18.1.A and 18.2.A; AND The Leadership and Teamworking Skills standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.321(b)(1); STCW Code Section A-II/3 and Table A-II/3, as amended 2010; AND The Leadership and Teamworking Skills standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.329(c); STCW Code Section A-III/1 and Table A-III/1, as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 17-14(Ch-5) Tasks 16.1.A and 16.2.A. Applicants who have successfully completed your course need not present completed “Task Control Sheets” for these assessments in application for STCW certification.
